Digital Futures: Towards a New Definition of English Studies

Please join us for a discussion of how English might best embrace a digital future with Prof Clare Hutton (Loughborough) and Dr. Alistair Brown (Durham) .

Speakers

Alistair Brown is Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Digital Humanities and Modern Literature, and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research and scholarship interests cover the digital humanities, digital pedagogy and learning technology, and the creative industries. He specialises in video games and literature and, currently, in the use of VR and 360 video in teaching and learning English.

 

 

 

 

 

Clare Hutton is Professor of Literature and Book History. Her research is on Irish Literature, especially early twentieth century.  She has a particular interest in book history, including questions about how literary texts get written; how, where, when and why they are read; and how, when and by whom they are published. Her research has been funded by the AHRC, the Leverhulme Trust, and the British Academy.
